Centering Love and Care
1 October 2024
Dear Friends and Partners,
As we embrace the month of October, we are called to reflect on our shared theme, “Love as Our Center.” At the heart of our work in the Progressive Interfaith Alliance, love serves as the grounding force that binds us together across differences of faith, tradition, and practice. Love is not only the foundation of our spiritual journeys, but also the guiding principle for how we engage with the world around us.
In the spirit of this, I am excited to invite you to participate in our upcoming social media series, “31 Days of Caring for Ourselves, Caring for Others.” This October, we will be focusing on how we can express love through care—whether that be for ourselves, our families, or our broader communities. The series will highlight critical topics such as mental health, addiction, suicide prevention, and supporting family caregivers, with particular attention to the unique needs of BIPOC, Queer, and youth communities.
We encourage each of you to share these resources within your networks and congregations. By doing so, we can amplify the message that love, expressed through intentional care, has the power to heal and transform. Let us show up for one another, as love demands, and make space for deep connection and compassion.
Thank you for the love you bring to your communities. Together, let us continue to build bridges of understanding, care, and justice.
In solidarity,
Lisa Bailey
